The MAIBS Master is international and is delivered entirely in English. The multidisciplinary teaching combines technical and business elements and leads students to immediately face practical problems.
The Master is a full-time course starting in January 2021, with a minimum enrollment of 15 students and a maximum of 25. It will last until July 2021.
The diploma, issued by the University of Tuscia, is recognised as a second level Master degree by the Italian Government.
The training objective of the Master is to provide a specialised profile on the potential, opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence applications for business innovation and security.
The outgoing profile of the Master is a graduate in STEM or Business Economics, highly qualified, able to master the themes, trends and application potential of artificial intelligence and big data technologies, for the development of innovative, secure, solutions and frontier business in organizations with strong innovative content.
Indeed, the candidates should be graduates of 2nd level in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics. Degrees of other disciplines related to the ones in the list will be assessed by the Board during the admission procedure.
The maximum number of applicants is 25. In the event that the number of candidates for the Master’s degree will be higher than this number, the selection will be made by the Board through the evaluation of the curriculum vitae (CV) and the motivational letter accompanying the CV, as well as the skills assessment test and the oral interview.
Participants in the master’s course will have to undergo tests, take part in lessons, project work, and pass a final test which will consist of the discussion of a written paper on one of the topics addressed during the training course. The paper may be carried out under the supervision of a Master’s supervisor chosen by the participant, and in collaboration with an external company. Master’s students who do not achieve the necessary preparation to obtain the title, fail to pass the tests, and/or have poor attendance records to the Master’s classes/seminars, can compensate for the situation by the year following the year of the first enrolment at the latest.
After two years from the date of the first enrolment, the student is either eligible to obtain the title or can no longer aspire to obtain it even through new enrollment.

Due to the Covid pandemic, the start of the course was shifted to the beginning of the year 2021 and the course will run – in an intensive way – until June 2021. The precise starting date of the programme will be announced in due course.
The course will make use of a blended strategy. Part of the contents (mostly related to theory) will be delivered through e-learning. The rest will be taught in physical classrooms and laboratories. Physical classes will be also streamed in real-time on the e-learning platform.
In the unlikely event of a worsening of the CoVID outbreak, and with the final aim to protect the health and safety of students, the Organizational Board of the master will reserve the right to switch the programme fully online, also during the course of the programme.

The programme is divided into four training areas: Inception, Portfolio, Risk & Security, and Application.
The Inception area will provide students with the necessary framework for current and future trends in the digital transformation process, starting from the digitalization of business processes to their re-engineering through the adoption of advanced digital technologies, flexible automation, and smart management.
The Portfolio area will provide students with the theoretical and applicative knowledge necessary to master artificial intelligence technologies, in particular in relation to conceptual data modeling, tools for big data analysis, and technologies to realize cognitive services.
The Risk & Security area will deal with the aspects of privacy, security, and ethics of big data and artificial intelligence, with particular reference also to the use of the tools and technologies in question for applications to business processes that guarantee high levels of reliability, confidentiality, and availability.
In the end, the Application area will deal with application scenarios in real contexts related to the use of machine learning for the safety of product and process innovations in the organizations.
