Biography

Prof. Stefano Rossi is an Associate Professor and PhD advisor at the Department of Economics, Engineering,
Society and Business Organisation of Tuscia University.

Since 2008 up to 2010 he was researcher fellow at Children’s Hospital Bambino Gesù.

Since October 2008 to May 2009 he was researcher scholar at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Since  2010 to 2012 he was researcher in “Mechanical and Thermal Measurements” at Sapienza – University of Rome.

Since 2012 until 2018 he was an Assistant Professor in the same scientific field at the University of Tuscia. Since 2014 he taught courses of “Sensors and Data Acquisition systems” and “Mechanical and Thermal Measurements”.

He is also co-inventor of two national patents for a wearable sensor and machine-learning algorithm for the identification of irregular race walking and for a powered orthosis for the rehabilitation of knee and ankle.

Education

  • He graduated with honors in Mechanical Engineering from Sapienza – University of Rome in 2004.
  • In 2008, he defended his PhD thesis in "Measurements in Mechanical Engineering" at the University of Padua.

Publications

  • His research interests are focused on the design of new robotic systems for the movement recovery and the individuation of indices capable to objectively measure the motor performance of patients with neurological disorders by means of inertial systems, optoelectronic systems, and electromyography.
